Since its establishment in 2008 by Ciara Crossan, WeddingDates has expanded its offerings to include management software as well as the digital marketing services to the Wedding industry in the UK and Ireland. Working closely with colleagues you will gain insight to all aspects of the business with the opportunity to contribute in a real way to the success of WeddingDates. We are seeking a talented and experienced Content Marketer to join our marketing team and help drive our brand's growth and engagement. Job Description
As a Content Marketer at WeddingDates, you will play a crucial role in developing our content marketing strategy. You will be responsible for executing that plan, creating and optimising content across various digital platforms, driving brand awareness, increasing website traffic, and nurturing customer engagement. Collaborating closely with the marketing team, you will have the opportunity to shape our brand's voice and establish our position as a thought leader for weddings in the territory.
This role will require you to:
Content
- Develop and execute a comprehensive B2C content marketing strategy aligned with the company's goals and target audience.
- Create and develop engaging and informative content for various communication channels, including websites, social media platforms, newsletters, and press releases. This includes writing, editing, proofreading, and formatting content as needed.
- Create visually appealing graphics and visuals to support various communication initiatives, such as infographics, banners and social media assets.
- Understand and maintain brand consistency across all materials. Liaise with clients on promotional campaigns in a professional and helpful manner.
- Optimise content for search engines (SEO) to drive organic traffic and improve visibility in search engine results pages (SERPs).
- Track, measure and analyse the success of content, and strive to consistently improve results.
- Stay up to date with latest wedding trends, practices and emerging content formats.
Social Media
- Manage the organisation’s social media presence, including creating and scheduling posts, monitoring engagement, and responding to comments and messages promptly.
- Community engagement across our social media channels: Instagram, TikTok, Pinterest, Twitter and Facebook.
- Stay current with social media trends and implement strategies to increase visibility and reach.
Website
- Collaborate with the marketing team to update and maintain the organisation’s website.
- This includes uploading content to the bog, ensuring accurate information, optimising user experience, and assisting with troubleshooting and technical issues.
Campaigns
- Develop a deep understanding of our audience segments and the wedding couples journey.
- Design marketing campaigns to promote brand awareness and drive enquiry generation.
- Develop digital marketing campaigns: including email marketing and Facebook Ads Develop our B2C email database
Technical knowledge:
Keywords, SEO, Google Analytics, WordPress, Meta, Tweetdeck, Canva, Google Ads, Facebook Ads, Mailchimp, Video & Video Editing, Podcasts
You:
- Have 3 - 5 years Marketing experience
- Have excellent writing and editing skills & can write effective copy that converts.
- Have experience of developing project plans and setting timelines.
- Have experience with forecasting, tracking, analysis, measurement & reporting.
- Are ambitious for improvement and take the initiative to achieve better results.
- Are very comfortable working with spreadsheets.
- Have experience with CRM: (onepageCRM, hubspot, salesforce or similar).
- Demonstrate excellence in engagement with all stakeholders, internal and external.
- Have a third level qualification in Marketing / Communications or Journalism.
- Have an eye for detail and are committed to continuous improvement.
- Demonstrate great time management skills.
Bonus Points:
- Familiarity with weddings
- Digital Marketing Certifications and Courses (Google, Salesforce, Hubspot, CXL, etc.)
- Understanding of A/B testing, user segmentation.

This is a full time role, however, shorter hours would be considered for the right candidate.
Head office is based in Cork, Ireland. This role can be remote or hybrid.
Hours of work: 9.00 - 5.30 Monday to Friday,
